This is the last post of illustration board artwork that I created in September during my residency. I’m getting ready to start more here in the studio though! This was a fun, geometrical composition using lots of circles and bright colors, along with black sand & paint in certain areas for contrast and texture. Here are images of it through several stages:
As always my original color ideas changed a bit during the process but it basically turned out how I envisioned it.
If I find time to download & edit the images I am going to feature some new creations on the blog tomorrow! If not I’ve still got a few pieces from September I haven’t shown, along with several more “road trip” photos. I can’t believe I’ve been home for over a month, posting at least four times a week and I still have things left to show you! Guess it worked out well since I lost a couple of weeks during October while I re-designed and re-arranged my studio area. But now I’m back to making art and loving the new studio layout – I actually have space to work! That makes all the time & effort worth it. 🙂
