Instead of just giving you a preview this evening I’m letting you know that the last of the new items have been added and are available for bid during the last 24 hours of the fundraising art auction! With many people traveling for the Easter weekend it gives you a bit longer to get your bids in before you leave and, I won’t have to worry about getting it online and active in the morning either. 🙂
A few of the new items were featured in advertising, so if you’ve been looking for them here they are! Additionally there is a class for two, a class for TWELVE and a portrait photo shoot up for bid.
Now, a request. The last few days the bids have been dwindling. I know you are probably getting tired of reading and hearing about it but I really, really need your help in sharing this info so we can raise as much money as possible these last 24 hours! It doesn’t take long to click “share”, write a quick e-mail or tweet about it so help as much as you can. Thank you~
P.S. If you hadn’t heard yet we received a $200 donation to be applied to this lovely piece of art (that was generously donated by artist Doug Arnholter) – making this an even better opportunity for you to own this piece of art!
Yup, it’s still going on! I hope you’ve visited the auction site to learn why I’m raising money – and to place a bid or two!
As it turns out I did find one more “theme” for the daily auction items. Thursday’s items will all be related to printmaking, gelatin prints specifically. I love to create these fun piece, they are full of surprises and happy accidents. In addition to a class for two to learn this fun art form I’ve also got some matted, ready to frame pieces up for auction that are new…they’ve not been on my website, page or blog before. Consider this not just their debut but your chance to get them at a great price too. 🙂
You can click on the smaller images to see them in a larger format. Friday will bring the last six “one day only” items – including a class for two, a class for TWELVE and a photo session! Details on that tomorrow!
I so, so, SO appreciate everyone bidding, sharing and promoting this event! So before I share what’s coming Wednesday I just wanted to give you all a big THANK YOU! That being said…I’m going to ask for more. More bids, more sharing, more positive vibes, whatever you’ve got. Three more days left to make a big impact on a family in need. So I’ve got some special deals for Wednesday. If you’ve not noticed the last two days had a “theme” of sorts, shadow box art class & shadow box art on Monday followed by a rock painting class and digital art created using textures of rocks. Today’s preview is no different! If you know me and my art, you’d have to expected a Mandala themed day!
In addition to the class these mandala art pieces are going to be up for bid too! Click on the small image to see details and a larger image of each piece.

If you’ve followed my blog for a while you probably know I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions. I try my best not to set myself up to fail if I can avoid it, and that’s just what I’d be doing with a resolution! BUT, I do choose a word or two to focus on during the new year. Although they might sound a bit counter-productive they related to different aspects of my work & life and both rang true with me very quickly for a change.
Firstly, in regards to my art, my word is “Experiment”. Of course I had to create an image to keep my word in mind:
I’ve spent several years trying to define myself as an artist, with a style or medium or something easily identifiable but for the life of me once I’ve found something I enjoy I work it for a while and then I’m ready for a new challenge. What once excited me and I was happy creating now brings less joy. I’m very glad that I followed the path but I’m ready to choose a new one! So instead of listening to the “shoulds” of the art world I’m going to embrace what comes naturally to me and experiment with what inspires me without placing any restrictions on it. It’ll be a surprise to both of us what I end up doing!
My second word is aimed more at my art BUSINESS (and to a certain extent, my personal life as well), and it is “Focus”. I am so easily distracted (see above) and always seem to be looking five items down the line instead of completing what needs to be done at the moment. Creatively, that’s probably okay. As far as marketing, promoting, applications, paperwork, blogging, website updates and running a business, well…not so much! Often it seems I’ve lost hours (if not an entire day) without accomplishing the items that I set out to do. Add that to my tendency to procrastinate and I feel like I spend a lot of time putting out fires of my own creation. I distract myself AWAY from creating art on many occasions! So, in order to really fulfill the creative part of my life I’m going to do my best to focus when I’m working on the non-creative so I can get it out of the way and get back to what I was put here to do!
Do you have any goal, focus words or resolutions for 2015? I’d love to hear about them!
