A little Monday morning creativity!

Somedays just seem to let my creativity open up and run free so much easier than others. Even if they aren’t necessarily the ones I have marked on my calendar as such! This morning I was up & out the door a bit earlier than usual (the out the door part, that is) so as I drove down our drive past the field of dandelion “blowies” they were all perfectly backlit by the sun.  It was like the entire field glowed white! When I returned home a short while later I couldn’t resist just parking the car and getting out my trusty point & shoot camera to take a few shots.

I hadn’t really paid attention to the glistening dew until I took this photo, it was sparkling like tiny diamonds all across the field! I decided to play with some camera angles and perspectives and this ended up being my favorite shot of the morning:

The only thing that would have made it better was if there were some clouds to break up the large area of blue sky.  And that’s when I started getting creative with my computer! Clouds in the background? Hey – no problem!

But really, why stop there? And I didn’t! I played with different colors, hues, blends and filters coming up with several versions of the same image.

The last version (shown at the top of the page) combines two of the creative edits with one of them flipped horizontally, resized and layered on top of the first. It’s my favorite – which one appeals to you?

I need to carve out more of these “mini” creative sessions for myself, an hour or so here & there. Otherwise it seems like there is never “time” to do things like this because I am only looking for large expanses of free time and those continue to become more & more rare!

Always searching,
