Shifting into Digital Mode

As I was setting up my new site and selecting images to include (which I am still slowly adding!) I realized how long it had been since I’d created any art using digital tools. Shortly after my son showed me his sweet new tablet with pen and I was drooling. Fast forward a month or two and I’ve jumped in with both feet, purchasing a new tablet to replace the almost nine year old one…along with one of the fancy pens. Of course an art app and some downloads to beef it up came along in the process! I’ve been creating off & on for probably a month now and really enjoying being able to be creative while I’m in the house, not just while I’m in the studio. I’ve created several landscape style pieces, lots of abstract art in different shapes and sizes and even some faces, which I’ve affectionately been referring to as my “Hippee Chicks” as they all have a very Boho vibe. I’m adding a few samples below, which one(s) are your favorites?

“Full Moon Rising” digital landscape
early abstract work, currently untitled
“Playful Thoughts” abstract digital painting
“Hippee Chick” #1, Digital Portrait

Many of the newer pieces have been added to my print store online and can be ordered as photo prints, fine art prints, metal prints, canvas prints, prints on wood or acrylic prints. I am more than a bit haphazard about posting here on the blog but I do send out weekly newsletters to keep my art-loving friends in the loop about upcoming events, special offers and new creative pursuits. While you are visiting my site would you take a moment to join my newsletter list ( there’s a link at the bottom of every page)? I’d appreciate it!

I hope you have been able to spend time creatively too! I’d love to hear about what you like to create – it’s inspiring! Thanks for reading…I’ll pop back on when I can. Love & blessings….

Peonies – Part Two

A few more images to add from my recent photo play. This group was taken with backlight coming through the window and purposely over-exposed when I took them. Afterwards I did some digital adjustments to make them high-key, contrasty and soft.

I also did some macro, close-up images with a digital edit or two as well.

I’m patiently waiting to see what kind of flowers I’ll have to take pictures of next! In the meantime I’ll return to the up-cycled artwork next post – I promise! Lynne

Closing, Opening, Beginning….

email Fractal 2013, dec 27-3

Look at this…a blog post! Amazing. Wow, what a year. I’m in that phase where you review the year, good, bad and indifferent, and start looking toward the next one. I would go out on a limb and say I’m not the only one! I can’t even begin to talk about all the changes 2013 has brought, and already I am anticipating many more in 2014. If you remember a whole year ago I had selected two words to focus on for 2013, Haven and Explore. I had no idea that my haven would be in an entirely new zip code, in a new home! Although I still have walls to paint and work to do it is more assuredly become a haven. I’ve explored things I didn’t anticipate and didn’t explore much of what I thought I would. Life is an adventure!

Although I’m still deciding on words for 2014 there are a couple that keep coming up over & over – the first being “simplify” and the next being “transform”. Have you thought of any word or words for your focus during the next year?

I’ve slowly been getting back to art and creativity,  like the new fractal art at the top of the page. Somehow closing out the year with a blog post feels right too, I’m out of excuses – if I’m blogging I need to show up consistently. So here I am! Speaking of blogs, I’m a using that word “Simplify” already and, at least for this year, closing down my “Digital Art Daily” blog. I’ll leave it online as an archive for now but new digital art will be posted here.

So that’s it – my thoughts for ending and beginning of another year. I hope yours if full of love, blessings and happy surprises!

Lynne

Blended Fractals #42 and #43

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve shared any fractal or digital artwork on this blog so I thought I’d sneak some in today!

Most of my newest creations comprised of several different fractal images blended together to make one new colorful, detailed piece. No exception here! These are the “single” fractal images that I used:

This time I had so much fun blending and changing the coloring on the art that I came up with two final pieces. I just couldn’t decided! So you get to see both. 🙂

So, do you have a favorite between the two? Or like one of the singles best?
