In my last post about digital art I mentioned that I had made different versions of this particular image in different color schemes. I thought it might be fun to show some of the versions and get some feedback from you as to which one appeals to you most. The original color scheme is at the top of the post, here are the rest:
So, what do you think? Any of them jump out and speak to you more loudly than the others?
I love that there is so much flexibility in selecting the colors for a digital piece, until it comes down to the time when I am ready to present the image online. I can’t fill up pages with different versions of the same image so I try to select the one that I think best suits the composition and style and only use that. Usually it ends up being the original colors selected during creation but occasionally I find a different color scheme that ends up being even better than the original. I have plans on updating and making changes on my website soon so I believe I will use all the versions of this particular image to demonstrate the flexibility there is in digital art and help people understand not only can it be printing in a variety of sizes, on a wide selection of different materials, but that it can also be custom tailored to their color tastes!
I’ve continued to play with creating photo/digital art using rock/landscape textures as a base for the composition. I’m having a blast making these! In my last post about them I showed you the before & after pictures of the photos that inspired the art. Today I’m just showing the newly created artwork – one because I’m sleepy and heading for bed as soon as I write this and, two, I forgot to upload those images. 🙂 That’s one way to keep a post short & sweet! In addition to the image at the top of the page these are the other two pieces that I’ve completed as of today:
The last piece I ended up with FIVE different versions of! It’s hard not to play with the color combinations and I just kept finding ones that I liked. 🙂 When I get a chance I will upload the alternate versions and let you compare them. Now for some much-needed sleep, I want to be fresh for my day in the studio tomorrow!
