I am also busy creating upcycled envelopes and invitations to the private opening of this upcoming show! If you will be in the Indianapolis area on June 1st and would like to be invited to the private opening please send an email with your mailing address to info@lynnemedsker.com and I would be honored to send you an invitation.

I’ve been busy the past several months exploring different media and materials, especially things that are often discarded. Magazines, newspapers, scrap metal, styrofoam, plastic lids, old books, aluminum cans, used albums & CD’s, wood scraps, packing materials and have even found a few objects that I am not even sure what they were used for! It’s been an interesting journey but now I am narrowing my focus to a handful of those materials and producing new work especially for this show. I will continue to share peeks at the process over the next month. It has really opened my eyes to all the possible materials and genres that can be created by re-imagining and re-purposed items. I’ve even re-created some of my own artwork into something new & different!

I do hope you’ll be able to attend the show at some point during the month of June…I am really excited to share my journey with you.

Blessings,

Lynne

Solo Show for October

"we must dream" mixed media on canvas, 24x48", $575 © lynne medsker

I delivered artwork yesterday to the Mary Bishop Memorial Art Gallery located in the Crawfordsville Public Library in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Wow! What a large display space they have, as well as a lovely library! The art will be hung and on display from this Friday until Friday, October 28th. Since there is so much space I delivered over 30 pieces of artwork! A couple of pieces are a year or two old, like “We Must Dream” shown above, most are less than a year old and some are just newborns. 🙂

Exploring downtown Crawfordsville while dropping off the art was fun, lots of little cafes, diners and shops along the downtown streets. If you are looking for a nice road trip, I’d suggest taking 136 west from Indy – it’s a nice drive with lots of scenery and small towns to visit along the way! Of course if you are in a hurry then it’s less than a hour drive out I-74 west from downtown Indy. Either way you don’t want to miss it!

Use MapQuest, Google Maps or a GPS? The address for the library is 205 South Washington Street, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. The library hours are:

Monday—Thursday 9:00 – 9:00
Friday 9:00 – 5:00
Saturday 9:00 – 5:00
Sunday 1:00 – 5:00
