Rescheduled Gelli Plate Workshop!

Due to a scheduling conflict (and a delay on getting running water installed!) the first workshop in my new studio has been pushed back until October 18th!  All the details are below, the only change is the date. I hope that you can attend, I’m anxious to have some printmaking fun with you!

Saturday, October 18th join me for a fun day of exploring printmaking on gelli plates. Come prepared to be messy and to leave with LOTS of prints! This simple, press-free, method of printmaking is great fun and hard to stop once you get started. I’ll provide all the materials, some tips & techniques and a bit of guidance along the way – you provide the enthusiasm!

If you’ve wanted to try this fun art form this is a perfect way to check it out before you purchase any supplies. If you enjoy it as much as I do the plates will be available to purchase at a reduced price at the end of class so you can continue printing at home.printmaking sample © Lynne Medsker

We’ll start at 10 a.m. and continue to play until 4 p.m. that day. I’ll have coffee and pastries available in the morning and ice tea and cookies in the afternoon, as well as bottled water all day. Bring a lunch with you (I have a refrigerator and microwave in the studio) so you don’t have to leave during the fun!

To allow each person a lot of space to spread out and work I am limiting the class to four students (note: I have two signed up already!) so be sure to sign up soon! Cost per student is $95. Register online at www. lynnemedsker.com on the “Online Registration” page under the “Instruction” tab.

I can’t wait for this fun day to get here!

Name That Workshop!

Tuesday I announced the first workshop I’ll be holding in the new studio space. Today I’m asking for your input for a second workshop to be held on October 18th 2014. SO, what do YOU want to learn? Even if you aren’t able to attend I’d appreciate the feedback on what topic(s) interest you…either from the list I have available on my website or from the pages of art shown there. I’m open for anything! I’ve set aside the entire day so it can be a quick morning class or an all-day workshop.  I’ll announce the topic by September 15th to allow time for sign-ups.

Waiting patiently….

Ready to Advance?

Somehow that title sounds like a shmoozy late-night commercial blurb, doesn’t it? I don’t know if that will draw you in or scare you away! I just thought “Ready to Advance your Mandala Creating Skills? New Workshop Next Week!” wouldn’t fit well in the title bar area very well. That being said….

Well, are you? Ready to advance those creative mandala skills? Hmmm?

Next Wednesday evening, August 21st from 6 to 9 p.m. at Art Lab Indy I’ll be presenting “Mandala Art II” (such a creative class name, no?).  If you’ve got the basics of creating a mandala in a square/circle format and are ready to break out of that boxy world then this is for YOU. We’ll explore creating mandalas off-center, in multiples and also be using a new background (watercolor paper) and (surprise!) watercolors, too.

This will be my last class for a while as time for our move approaches, if you miss this one you’ve got a couple months to wait before I’ll be teaching again. Maybe just don’t miss it, how’s that sound? Contact Art Lab Indy to register for class, cost is $35. As always all supplies are provided so just bring yourself & a playful attitude. See you then!

P.S. If you missed the Intro to Mandala Class and are a self-starter, here are instructions on the basics so you’ll be caught up for this class:  Making A Mandala
